President Bola Tinubu has carried out a cabinet shake-up, leading to the removal of two key ministers from the Federal Executive Council.
The affected officials are the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.
Their exit was confirmed in an official statement issued through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, signaling a fresh adjustment within the administration.
The reshuffle also paved the way for new appointments, with Taiwo Oyedele stepping in to take over the finance portfolio.
Oyedele, who previously served as Minister of State for Finance, is now expected to lead the country’s economic management team in a substantive capacity.
For the housing ministry, a new replacement has been named, with Muttaqha Rabe Darma put forward to assume the role pending necessary processes.

The presidency directed that all affected officials complete their handover duties within a specified timeframe to ensure a smooth transition.
The development is part of ongoing efforts by the administration to reposition governance and strengthen service delivery across key sectors.
Although described as a minor reshuffle, the changes affect critical ministries tied to the country’s economy and infrastructure.
The latest move adds to a series of adjustments within the cabinet since Tinubu assumed office, reflecting continued efforts to recalibrate his team.
