The Nigerian Air Force says its air component of Operation HADIN KAI has carried out precision airstrikes in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, killing several terrorists in a coordinated offensive.
The operation was confirmed in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to him, the strikes are part of sustained efforts to maintain pressure on insurgents operating in the North-East region.
He explained that the mission was launched after credible intelligence reports, supported by surveillance operations, identified active terrorist positions within fortified structures.
The Air Force said its aircraft engaged the targets with precision-guided munitions, destroying hideouts and logistics facilities used by the insurgents.
Subsequent assessments reportedly confirmed the neutralisation of multiple terrorists during the operation.
Military authorities said the continuous air campaign has significantly disrupted terrorist networks in the region.
They added that the sustained attacks are forcing remaining fighters into defensive and reactive positions.
The Air Force leadership restated its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist groups until they are completely eliminated.
It also emphasized that all operations are guided by intelligence and strict operational procedures to minimise civilian harm.
The Chief of the Air Staff reaffirmed that the military will continue intelligence-driven air operations across the theatre of conflict.
He assured that the Air Force remains focused on protecting personnel and safeguarding national security.
Officials said the ongoing campaign reflects a broader strategy to weaken terrorist capabilities in the North-East.
The operation in Sambisa is part of a series of coordinated strikes aimed at dismantling insurgent strongholds across the region.
