Kwara Police Seek More Vehicles, Equipment To Strengthen Fight Against Crime
The Kwara State Police Command has called for more operational vehicles and modern equipment to strengthen its ability to combat crime and respond quickly to security threats across the state.
The command said improved logistics would help officers reach crime scenes faster, conduct effective patrols and sustain operations against criminals, particularly in areas where security challenges require stronger police presence.
The request comes as security agencies continue to intensify efforts to prevent attacks, kidnapping and other criminal activities in Kwara and neighbouring areas.
The police said adequate mobility remains essential to effective policing, as officers need reliable vehicles to carry out patrols, respond to distress calls and pursue suspected criminals.
Beyond vehicles, the command is also seeking additional operational equipment to improve the capacity of its personnel and support intelligence-led policing across the state.
The demand for stronger police resources has become more important as criminal groups continue to exploit remote communities and difficult terrain, making rapid deployment a major part of security operations.
The command is expected to continue working with the Kwara State Government, communities and other stakeholders to improve security and provide a safer environment for residents.
The police also urged members of the public to continue providing useful information about suspicious movements and criminal activities, stressing that effective security requires cooperation between law enforcement agencies and communities.
With additional vehicles and equipment, the command believes its personnel will be better positioned to sustain patrols, respond to emergencies and disrupt criminal operations before they escalate.
The appeal therefore places greater emphasis on the need for continued investment in policing infrastructure as Kwara strengthens its efforts to protect residents and property across the state.
