Federal High Court Mourns Justice Yunusa

The Federal High Court has announced the passing of Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of the Kano Judicial Division following a brief illness.
Justice Yunusa died on May 21, 2026, at the State Medical Centre in Kano. He was later laid to rest according to Islamic rites shortly after his death.
In a statement issued by the court, the late judge was described as a committed and respected jurist who dedicated his life to the service of justice and the legal profession.
The court said Justice Yunusa served with integrity, professionalism, and strong commitment throughout his years on the Bench, adding that his contributions to the judiciary would not be forgotten.
Colleagues, members of the legal profession, court officials, and those who worked with him were said to have been deeply saddened by the news of his death.
The Federal High Court management also praised his role in strengthening the administration of justice and maintaining the values of the judiciary during his service.
The Chief Judge, judges, management, and staff of the Federal High Court extended condolences to the family of the late jurist and prayed for comfort during the difficult period.
The statement also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
