APC Sets August 22 for Fresh Legislative Primaries

The All-Progressives Congress has fixed August 22 for its primaries to select candidates for upcoming state and federal legislative elections.
The primaries will cover four restored State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, as well as legislative bye-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano states.
According to the timetable released by the party and signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, the sale of nomination forms will run from August 18 to August 20.
Completed forms and other required documents must also be submitted by August 20, while the screening of aspirants, release of screening results and hearing of appeals will take place on Friday, August 21.
The APC has fixed Saturday, August 22, 2026, for the primaries, while appeals arising from the exercise are expected to be handled on Monday, August 24.
The exercise follows the decision to restore constituencies in Delta and Kogi, while the party also prepares to choose candidates for the legislative bye-elections in the affected states.
With the timetable now released, aspirants have only a few days to obtain forms, complete documentation and scale through the screening process before delegates or party members decide who will fly the APC flag.
