NDLEA Arrests Alleged Cocaine Kingpin While Heading to Paris

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a Lagos-based social media influencer and businessman, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over his alleged involvement in an international cocaine trafficking network.
KC Luxury was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly preparing to board a flight to Paris, France. The arrest followed an investigation into a cocaine cartel said to have used Nigeria as a route for moving drugs to the United Kingdom, Europe and parts of Asia.
According to the NDLEA, the investigation began after its operatives intercepted a large consignment of cocaine allegedly being prepared for export through a courier and logistics company in Lagos.
The agency said 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine were intercepted in the operation, prompting the NDLEA to set up a Special Investigation Team to trace the individuals and network allegedly connected to the shipment.
The cocaine seizure was described as one of the agency’s biggest interceptions involving a courier company, with the drugs allegedly valued at billions of naira.
During the investigation, an employee of the logistics company was arrested. The NDLEA alleged that the investigation later exposed a wider network involving several individuals and facilitators.
The agency identified KC Luxury as the alleged Nigerian coordinator of the cartel. Before his arrest, he was widely known on social media for his luxury lifestyle and business activities, including dealings in gold, jewellery and other high-end items.
NDLEA operatives arrested him at the airport on August 13, 2026, while he was allegedly attempting to leave the country on a business-class flight to Paris.

The agency said foreign currencies, including €7,750 and £2,800, as well as ₦100,000, were allegedly recovered from him at the time of his arrest.
A subsequent search of his residence at Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, reportedly led to the discovery of several luxury items and exotic vehicles.
The NDLEA alleged that the drug network used different identities, companies and intermediaries to conceal those behind the movement of cocaine through courier channels.
The agency also claimed that the cartel had links outside Nigeria, with alleged associates and collaborators connected to the movement of drugs to the United Kingdom and other foreign destinations.
According to the NDLEA, the cocaine shipment and other alleged transactions linked to the network could have generated proceeds running into about ₦39 billion.
The arrest of KC Luxury has also brought renewed attention to the alleged use of courier and logistics services by drug trafficking networks seeking to move narcotics across international borders.
The NDLEA said investigations were continuing to identify other people allegedly connected to the cartel and trace the financial transactions surrounding the operation.
KC Luxury and the other suspects remain under investigation, and the allegations against them are yet to be determined by a court.
