Tinubu to Embark on State Visit to Türkiye on Monday

President Bola Tinubu will travel from Abuja to Türkiye on Monday for a state visit aimed at strengthening ties between Nigeria and the European nation.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit is meant to deepen cooperation between both countries in key areas such as security, education, aviation, innovation and social development. The trip also serves as a follow-up to the state visit made to Nigeria by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in October 2021.
During the visit, President Tinubu and Turkish authorities are expected to hold high-level political and diplomatic talks focused on trade, investment, finance, communication and other shared interests. Several agreements will also be signed, covering areas like energy, scientific research, military and technical cooperation, media and protocol.
A business forum will be held as part of the visit, bringing together investors from Nigeria and Türkiye to explore new business opportunities and partnerships.
Members of the president’s delegation include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi; Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd); Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim; Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed, among others.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the state visit.
