Tinubu, Adeleke Hold Private Talks at Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke have held a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, drawing attention because of the political significance of the visit.
Adeleke’s visit came just days after his re-election victory in the Osun governorship poll, making the meeting his first known engagement with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa since the election. The President had earlier called to congratulate him and urged him to unite the people of Osun irrespective of their political choices.
The governor arrived at the Villa at about 5:25pm on Thursday and was accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. He was also joined by key members of his political and government team, including Senator Lere Oyewumi, Sunday Bisi, Chief of Staff Akinleye Kazeem, and House of Representatives member Bamidele Salam.

The agenda of the closed-door meeting was not immediately disclosed, leaving room for political interest over what discussions may have taken place between the two leaders.
The meeting is particularly significant because Adeleke and Tinubu belong to opposing political camps, while the Osun governor’s re-election has further strengthened his political position in the state.
Coming shortly after the conclusion of the Osun governorship election, the Aso Rock meeting has shifted attention from the campaign field to the Presidency, with observers waiting to see whether the engagement could open a new chapter of cooperation between the Federal Government and the Osun State Government.
For now, the details of the private discussions remain unknown, but the timing of the meeting only days after Adeleke secured another term has made it one of the most politically significant engagements involving the Osun governor since his victory.
