Nigerian comedian Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, known as Mr Jollof, has spoken out after getting into a heated fight with social media personality VeryDarkMan on a United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday. He said the clash happened suddenly and that he acted only to protect himself.
In a video he posted on Tuesday, Mr Jollof explained that he did not plan for the situation to escalate. He said he is not a violent person and apologized for the delay the fight caused.
Mr Jollof asked for forgiveness from the National Civil Aviation Authority, United Nigeria Airlines, and all passengers affected by the incident. He also shared a personal message for his family, telling his wife he hopes she is proud of him and apologizing to his children, promising not to repeat such behavior.
The fight drew a lot of attention online, and many people are wondering whether both Mr Jollof and VeryDarkMan might face legal consequences as aviation authorities and law enforcement review what happened.
As the situation continues to unfold, the public is waiting to see what actions officials will take next.
