Kaduna Rally: Tinubu Supporters Begin 2027 Mobilisation
The Northern Youth Frontiers, a coalition of youth groups across the 19 northern states, said the turnout at President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign rally in Kaduna reflected support for his administration and second-term ambition.
The group made its position known on Sunday through its North-West coordinator, Saminu Turaki, who congratulated the President on the rally and commended the campaign organisers for mobilising supporters.
Tinubu officially flagged off his re-election campaign on Saturday, October 24, at the Kaduna Township Stadium, drawing supporters, party leaders and political groups from different parts of the country.
Turaki praised Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, for his role in coordinating grassroots mobilisation ahead of the event. He said the efforts had helped energise young people and strengthen the coalition’s campaign activities across the North.
The coalition also commended traditional rulers, community leaders and residents who attended the rally, describing their participation as a show of solidarity with Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reaffirming its support for the President’s second-term bid, the group said its endorsement was based on what it described as his leadership, commitment to national development and economic reform agenda.
However, the coalition urged political parties and other stakeholders to maintain peace as activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify. It warned against political statements capable of deepening ethnic divisions, religious intolerance or tension among communities.
Turaki stressed that the election should focus on competing ideas, development plans and candidates’ records rather than divisive rhetoric. He called on political actors to demonstrate restraint and respect throughout the campaign period.
The Kaduna rally marks the beginning of the APC’s wider mobilisation drive for the 2027 presidential election. While the Northern Youth Frontiers interpreted the turnout as a sign of support for Tinubu, the rally attendance alone does not establish the voting preferences of the entire northern electorate.
