DSS drags El-Rufai to court over alleged Ribadu phone interception claim

Fresh legal trouble has emerged for former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following his arraignment by the Department of State Services over claims linked to an alleged intercepted phone conversation involving National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The case, filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja, centres on accusations that El-Rufai unlawfully accessed sensitive communication tied to national security concerns.
At the opening of proceedings on Thursday, prosecutors revealed that the initial charges had been expanded, with the case now comprising five counts instead of the earlier three.
