The Delta State Police Command has admitted it cannot fully explain the circumstances surrounding a viral incident involving the killing of a suspect, as public reactions continue to grow.
The spokesperson of the command, Bright Edafe, made the disclosure while addressing the controversy, describing the situation as one of the most difficult he has handled.
The incident, which occurred in Effurun, involved a police officer allegedly shooting a suspect during an operation, an act widely condemned as extrajudicial.
According to police accounts, the suspect had earlier been apprehended while attempting to send a package believed to contain a firearm, prompting officers to move in and take him into custody.
