The Federal High Court of Nigeria has announced its annual vacation for 2026, with court activities scheduled to go on break from Monday, 27 July 2026 to Friday, 11 September 2026.
The announcement was approved by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, in line with the provisions of the court’s civil procedure rules. The vacation is part of the court’s yearly calendar of operations.
During the period, the court will not be completely closed, as arrangements have been made for the hearing of urgent matters through specially designated vacation courts in selected divisions across the country.
According to the court, only cases considered urgent and time-sensitive will be entertained during the vacation. Litigants and legal practitioners have been directed to approach the designated courts nearest to them for such matters.
