Sam Larry Alive, Recovering After Fatal Crash That Claimed Aide’s Life
Nigerian music promoter and socialite Sam Larry is alive and responding to medical treatment following a tragic road accident that claimed the life of one of his close associates, putting to rest widespread rumours circulating on social media about his death.
Speculation over Sam Larry’s condition intensified after reports emerged that he was involved in a devastating auto crash along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road during the weekend. Graphic images and videos from the accident scene quickly went viral, prompting conflicting claims about his fate.
However, an associate of the music promoter, Akin Abolade, popularly known as Mr. Lilgaga, has dismissed the rumours, confirming that Sam Larry survived the accident and is currently receiving medical attention.
According to Abolade, he spoke directly with Sam Larry a few hours after the crash, insisting that although the accident was severe, the socialite remains alive and is responding positively to treatment. He urged members of the public to ignore false reports suggesting that he had died.
The accident reportedly occurred when the vehicle conveying Sam Larry collided with a trailer along the busy highway. The impact left the vehicle badly damaged and immediately drew emergency responders and passers-by to the scene.
Sadly, the crash claimed the life of Sam Larry’s bouncer, identified simply as Wale, who was said to have died at the scene before help could arrive. His death has cast a shadow over what initially began as concern for the music promoter’s condition.
Public concern over the incident grew after comedian and event host Mario Wazobia appealed to Nigerians to pray for Sam Larry, revealing that he had been hospitalised following the accident. The post triggered an avalanche of speculation online, with some social media users falsely claiming the promoter had died or suffered injuries that could lead to the amputation of his legs.
Those claims have now been denied by people close to him, who insist that while he sustained injuries in the accident, reports of his death are entirely false.
The incident has once again highlighted the speed at which unverified information spreads on social media, especially during emergencies involving public figures.
As Sam Larry continues his recovery, condolences have continued to pour in for the family and loved ones of his late aide, while many supporters have wished the music promoter a full and speedy recovery.
