Ondo Strengthens Civil Service With New Top Appointments

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of 32 new Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service. The decision is aimed at improving administration across ministries and departments.

The announcement was made in a statement from the governor’s office. The appointments are expected to strengthen governance and service delivery in the state.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will be posted to different ministries to take up key leadership roles. They are expected to support policy implementation and coordination of government activities.

In addition to the Permanent Secretaries, the governor also confirmed appointments into important statutory positions. These roles are considered vital to the smooth running of government operations.

Among those appointed, Olusola Sunday Ajayi was named Statistician-General, while Dr. Charles Tunde Ojuolape was appointed Auditor-General for Local Governments.

The statutory appointments will still require clearance from the Ondo State House of Assembly before they become fully effective.

According to the governor’s office, the appointments took effect from February 1, 2026. A date for the swearing-in ceremony will be announced later.

The governor said the move is part of efforts to reposition the civil service for greater efficiency and accountability.
