Nigerian Navy Opens 2026 Batch 39 Recruitment

The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School, inviting qualified Nigerians interested in joining the service to submit their applications.

The recruitment exercise is scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with applications to be completed online through the Navy’s designated recruitment platform.

The Navy stressed that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and warned applicants against paying money to individuals or agents claiming they can influence or facilitate selection.

Under the guidelines, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid National Identification Number. Candidates are also expected to meet the educational, medical, physical and psychological requirements specified for their chosen categories.

Male applicants must not be shorter than 1.69 metres, while female applicants must have a minimum height of 1.65 metres. Candidates must also be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not have been convicted of a criminal offence.

Applicants using O’Level qualifications are required to be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026. They must possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.

Different age and qualification requirements apply to candidates with Ordinary National Diploma or National Certificate in Education qualifications, as well as tradesmen, medical professionals and applicants seeking entry through sporting categories.

Candidates who successfully complete their online applications are expected to print the required documents, including their acknowledgement slip, parent or guardian consent form, Local Government attestation form and guarantor’s certification form.

The Navy said the date and venues for the recruitment examination would be communicated to successful applicants in due course.

Applicants have also been warned against submitting more than one application, as multiple applications will result in disqualification.

The Navy further stated that candidates must be able to communicate in basic English, warning that failure to meet the requirement could lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process.

Interested Nigerians have been advised to carefully study the recruitment requirements and ensure that the information and documents submitted during registration are accurate before completing their applications.
