The Limosa and Kassim families on Friday, October 9, gathered in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, to honour the memory of their beloved matriarch, Alhaja Mulikat Adebisi Kassim, popularly known as Alhaja Mulikat Adebisi Kassim nee Gbenro, during a special Fidau prayer attended by family members, friends, community leaders and well-wishers.
The solemn Islamic prayer gathering brought together people who came to pay their last respects to the late Alhaja, offer prayers for the repose of her soul and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family. The occasion also provided an opportunity for relatives and associates to reflect on the importance of family ties, compassion, generosity and the enduring bonds that bring people together in moments of loss.
The event was hosted by her son, Olalekan Limosa, alongside members of the wider Limosa family, who received guests and well-wishers in an atmosphere marked by prayers, remembrance and fellowship. Their presence and participation reflected the family’s commitment to honouring their departed loved one in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Muslim clerics led the religious proceedings, offering prayers and supplications for the forgiveness of the deceased, the peaceful repose of her soul and Allah’s mercy upon her. The gathering also served as a moment of reflection on the temporary nature of life and the importance of living with faith, kindness and consideration for others.

Among the distinguished personalities who graced the occasion was the Osi Asiwaju of Egba Land, Chief Alhaji Ajani Adekolu Adekunle, whose presence added to the significance of the gathering. His attendance demonstrated the importance of community solidarity and the respect accorded to families during moments of bereavement.
The Fidau prayer also attracted relatives, associates and well-wishers who joined the Limosa and Kassim families in offering condolences and sharing in their grief. Their presence provided support to the family as they remembered a woman whose passing has left a void among those connected to her.

A notable highlight of the gathering was the gesture of goodwill demonstrated by Chief Akindele Akinfolabi of Adamakin Investment, the Sole Power of Attorney to the estate of Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu. Although unable to attend the programme personally, the respected businessman and community figure sent a representative to attend on his behalf, ensuring that his solidarity with the bereaved family was duly conveyed.
Chief Akinfolabi also extended his generosity by providing item seven for guests at the event, further demonstrating his willingness to support the family and contribute to the hospitality extended to those who gathered to honour the deceased.

The gesture reflected the spirit of generosity and community responsibility for which Chief Akinfolabi seeks to be recognised. By sending a representative and supporting the gathering despite his absence, he demonstrated that meaningful participation in family and community affairs can go beyond physical attendance. His contribution helped reinforce the bonds of goodwill and mutual support that are particularly important when families are mourning a loved one.
As the Sole Power of Attorney to the Efunroye Tinubu estate, Chief Akinfolabi’s gesture also reflected his engagement with relationships beyond his immediate professional responsibilities. His support for the occasion underscored the value of maintaining cordial relationships, showing compassion to bereaved families and extending practical assistance when the need arises.
Following the religious proceedings, guests had the opportunity to exchange greetings, offer words of comfort and reconnect with relatives, friends and acquaintances. The hospitality provided by the host family helped create an atmosphere in which mourners could share memories, strengthen relationships and draw comfort from the company of others.

For the Limosa and Kassim families, the gathering was an important moment to celebrate the memory of Alhaja Mulikat Adebisi Kassim while seeking divine mercy for her. It also demonstrated the role of family, faith and community support in helping loved ones navigate the difficult period following the loss of a family member.
The presence of Chief Alhaji Ajani Adekolu Adekunle, the support extended by Chief Akindele Akinfolabi through his representative, and the participation of relatives and well-wishers combined to make the gathering a meaningful occasion of remembrance and solidarity.
As the family continues to mourn their departed matriarch, prayers remain central to their hope for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon her. The occasion ended with the family and guests united in remembrance, goodwill and prayers for the deceased, with appreciation for all who attended, sent representatives or contributed to the success of the Fidau gathering.
