The newly appointed Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Aneke, has pledged his loyalty and that of all Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel to the President, the Federal Government, and the Nigerian people.
“I also pledge my loyalty and that of the Nigerian Air Force officers, airmen and airwomen to the government and people of Nigeria as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution,” Aneke stated.
He assured that his leadership would build on the achievements of his predecessor, especially in ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and other internal security challenges. Aneke said the Air Force would continue to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies to enhance the nation’s safety.
“Together, we will leave no stone unturned in discharging our constitutional roles in conjunction with other sister services, security, intelligence and law enforcement agencies to bring about swift improvement in the security situation of Nigeria,” he added.
Aneke emphasized that personnel welfare would remain a top priority, noting that a motivated workforce is essential for effective operations.
“I promise to ensure that the welfare needs of all officers, airmen, airwomen and their family members are promptly addressed to motivate them for improved productivity,” he said.
He also called on the National Assembly to sustain its support for the Air Force, describing legislative cooperation as crucial to the success of military operations across the country.
The Air Chief expressed gratitude to NAF personnel for their goodwill messages following his appointment and thanked his family, especially his wife, for their support throughout his career.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, heads of formations, directors, and representatives of various security agencies.
