Embattled PFIPC Boss Pledges Full Cooperation With ICPC Investigation

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the embattled self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has declared his readiness to cooperate fully with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission as it begins a 30-day investigation into the controversial agency.
His statement comes barely hours after President Bola Tinubu directed the ICPC to probe the activities of the alleged fictitious council, investigate all those connected to it and submit a comprehensive report within one month.
Speaking during an interview, Adeyemi said he was prepared to hand over every document in his possession to security agencies, insisting he has nothing to hide and wants the truth to emerge.
He urged investigators to carefully examine all the documents, verify their authenticity and determine how the council allegedly found its way into the 2026 national budget despite the Presidency’s insistence that it never existed.
Adeyemi said he was in detention while preparations for the 2026 budget were ongoing and questioned how the agency could have appeared in the appropriation process without his involvement.
The embattled official also maintained that he would rather allow an independent investigation to determine the facts than continue exchanging accusations over the controversy.
According to him, his intention was to attract foreign investment into Nigeria through the council, adding that he never had any plan to defraud the government or members of the public.
President Tinubu has directed the ICPC to investigate allegations involving forged appointment letters, fake government documents, the opening of multiple bank accounts and the roles of anyone who may have assisted the alleged scheme.
The Presidency has continued to maintain that the PFIPC was never established by the Federal Government and has vowed that anyone found culpable after the investigation will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
