APC Dominates As INEC Announces By-Election Winners Across States

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the winners of Saturday’s by-elections held in several states, with the All Progressives Congress recording major victories in most of the contested seats.
The election results showed strong performances by the ruling party in states including Enugu, Kano, Ondo and Kebbi, while the Peoples Democratic Party managed to secure victory in Rivers State.
Not fewer than six major constituencies across the country participated in the by-elections conducted to fill vacant legislative positions left open by deaths and other political developments.
In Enugu State, APC candidate Ikeje Asogwa emerged victorious in the Enugu North Senatorial District after defeating candidates from rival political parties by a wide margin.
The PDP however recorded its major win in Rivers State where Olaka Nwogu secured victory in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District after defeating the APC candidate.
In Ondo State, APC candidate Dayo Faduyile won the Ondo South Senatorial District seat, adding another important victory for the ruling party.
The APC also celebrated success in Kano State after winning the Dawakin Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency by-election following the official declaration of results.
In Kebbi State, Rabiu Garba Aiki of the APC emerged winner of the Zuru State Constituency election after securing more votes than his opponents.
Nasarawa State also went in favour of the APC after its candidate won the senatorial by-election conducted in the state.
The by-election results have now strengthened APC’s position in several legislative seats as attention gradually shifts toward preparations for the country’s next major elections.
