FUOYE Suspends Two Students Over Leaked Video Controversy

The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti has suspended two students following their alleged involvement in the circulation of a private video linked to the institution’s suspended former Students’ Union Government president.
The university announced the disciplinary action as investigations continue into the controversial video, which has sparked widespread reactions both within the school community and across social media platforms.
Not fewer than two students were immediately placed on suspension after school authorities accused them of cyberbullying and allegedly sharing private material connected to the former student leader.
According to the university management, the decision was taken to allow a proper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the leaked content and identify those directly involved.
School authorities said the institution remains committed to maintaining discipline and protecting the privacy of members of its academic community.
The controversy began after a private video allegedly involving former SUG President James Iyanuoluwa Adio surfaced online and quickly attracted public attention.
Reports say the former student leader had already been facing disciplinary issues before the latest controversy involving the leaked video.
The university stated that students found responsible for distributing or sharing harmful online content would face strict sanctions under school regulations.
The incident has generated mixed reactions, with some students questioning the handling of the case and demanding accountability for those responsible for leaking private information.
FUOYE management assured the public that a full investigation is ongoing and promised that appropriate action would be taken once the process is concluded.
