Elliot Speaks on Gbajabiamila, Denies Rift and Reaffirms Political Loyalty

By Ranti Thomas
Lagos lawmaker and Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot, has dismissed reports suggesting any fallout between him and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, insisting that their relationship remains intact despite recent political speculation.
Elliot made the clarification while reacting to claims linking him to tensions within the Lagos political space following the controversy surrounding the Lagos State House of Assembly leadership crisis, which had earlier sparked public debate about alleged divisions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Surulere Constituency I representative maintained that there is no personal disagreement between him and Gbajabiamila, describing him as a long-time political mentor and leader he continues to respect and work with within the party structure.
The lawmaker said the rumours of a rift were exaggerated and misinterpreted, stressing that his political actions have always been guided by party consultations and loyalty to the APC leadership in Lagos and at the national level.
He further explained that any misunderstanding that may have arisen in the course of past political developments was not intentional and should not be interpreted as a breakdown in relations between them.
Elliot also reaffirmed his commitment to his legislative duties in Surulere and to the stability of the party, noting that internal unity remains essential as political activities continue to build toward future elections.
He maintained that he remains aligned with the leadership direction of the party, adding that he has continued to operate within established party structures without any form of division or personal conflict with Gbajabiamila.
