Yari, Uzodimma Take Key Roles in Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Team

President Bola Tinubu has moved to strengthen preparations for the 2027 presidential election by assigning major campaign responsibilities to former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The appointments place Yari and Uzodimma at the centre of the APC’s campaign structure as President Tinubu begins preparations for his re-election bid in the January 2027 presidential election.
Under the newly constituted APC Presidential Campaign Council, Tinubu will serve as chairman, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda were named vice chairmen.
Former Zamfara State Governor and senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General of the campaign council, giving him responsibility for coordinating the party’s presidential campaign machinery.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was named secretary of the council, while APC National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala Usman were appointed deputy and assistant secretaries respectively.
The campaign council also has an advisory body made up of prominent party leaders, including former APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Segun Osoba, former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau were also assigned key roles within the campaign structure.
Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole was named Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will oversee administration.
Also returning to a major campaign role is James Faleke, who was appointed Deputy Director-General for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
President Tinubu charged members of the campaign council to work towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election and to take the administration’s record and achievements to voters across the country.
The announcement signals a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 election, with the ruling party now putting together a structured campaign team months ahead of the presidential contest.
