Netanyahu to Meet Trump in Washington on Iran Talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to travel to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump in Washington this week. The visit is aimed at discussing ongoing negotiations and concerns related to Iran.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday and comes after recent indirect talks between U.S. and Iranian officials. Netanyahu’s office said the discussions will focus on shaping the diplomatic efforts moving forward.
Netanyahu stressed that any negotiations with Iran must address Tehran’s ballistic missile programme and its support for allied armed groups in the region.
His trip to Washington was moved forward to allow direct engagement with Trump as talks with Iran continue.
Trump and Iranian envoys recently held indirect nuclear talks in Oman, with further discussions expected in the coming weeks.
Netanyahu’s office noted that Israel believes nuclear diplomacy should be accompanied by efforts to curb Iran’s broader military capabilities.
This meeting will mark the seventh time Netanyahu has met with Trump since the U.S. president returned to office last year.
Observers say the talks reflect growing concerns about regional security and the direction of U.S.–Iran relations.
Both leaders have emphasised that diplomacy remains a priority, even as tensions over missile development and nuclear enrichment persist.
Netanyahu’s visit underscores the ongoing efforts of global leaders to find solutions to a situation with far-reaching implications for peace and stability.
