Court Issues Arrest Warrant For Alleged Fake Agency DG Adeniyi

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment over allegations of forgery, impersonation and conspiracy.
The bench warrant was issued on Tuesday by Justice Mohammed Umar, who granted an oral application by the prosecution after the defendant was absent when the case was called.
Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge filed by the Nigeria Police Force, bordering on alleged conspiracy, forgery, impersonation and related offences. The charge is marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.
The prosecution informed the court that Adeyemi failed to honour the court’s summons for his arraignment and urged the court to compel his appearance through a warrant of arrest.
After considering the application, Justice Umar directed law enforcement agencies to arrest the defendant and produce him before the court to answer the charges against him.
The case is part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, an organisation the Federal Government has maintained is not a recognised government agency.
Authorities allege that Adeyemi falsely presented himself as the Director-General of the council and used forged government documents and official identities in carrying out its activities. He has consistently denied the allegations, insisting that his appointment was genuine and that he would defend himself in court.
The controversy surrounding the alleged agency has attracted nationwide attention following claims that it appeared in the 2026 Appropriation Act and was allegedly linked to forged government documents and official endorsements. The matter is also being investigated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
