Oyo Police Probe GO’s Daughter Abduction

A woman identified as Mrs Ibukun Otesile has been abducted in Ibadan, prompting an active investigation by the Oyo State Police Command.
Otesile, a mother of two and daughter of Reverend Dr Lekan Babatunde, founder and General Overseer of Jesus Is King Ministries, was taken by unknown persons at the front of her residence in the General Gas area around 8pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025. The incident was first raised in an alert issued later that night on a faith-based platform.
The alert stated: “The daughter of our beloved Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde, was kidnapped this night Thursday, December 4th 2025, around 8pm, Mrs. Ibukun Otesile, the mother of 2, was kidnapped at the front of her gate at General Gas.”
The message also appealed for urgent support, adding:
“We call on HQ Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force Civil Society, also on well meaningful Nigerians to share this Information to the appropriate quarter.”
When contacted for an update, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate the victim. In a brief reply, he said: “Investigation is in progress. Updates will be provided accordingly, please.”
He also earlier noted that the abduction occurred on Thursday night and that security operatives are working to secure her release.
Otesile is reported to be the 2025 President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite.
