World Cup Semi-Finals Confirmed As Four Nations Battle For Final Spot
The race to become world champions has entered its final stage after the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup produced four remaining contenders, with the semi-final fixtures, dates and kick-off times now officially confirmed.
After weeks of thrilling matches, dramatic upsets and unforgettable moments across the United States, Canada and Mexico, France, Brazil, England and Argentina have secured places in the last four of football’s biggest tournament.
The semi-finals promise two blockbuster encounters as some of the world’s biggest football stars prepare to battle for a place in the World Cup final.
The first semi-final will see France face Brazil on Tuesday, July 14, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET (1:00 a.m. WAT on July 15).
France booked their place after edging past Paraguay in the Round of 16 before overcoming a determined Portugal side in the quarter-finals. Brazil also advanced after defeating Haiti and later overcoming Scotland to continue their impressive campaign.
The second semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, when England take on Argentina at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The match will also kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET (1:00 a.m. WAT on July 16).
England progressed after eliminating Croatia and then defeating the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, while defending champions Argentina reached the last four by overcoming Algeria before defeating Colombia.
The winners of both matches will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, while the losing teams will meet in the third-place playoff.
