Hon.Faleke, OORBDA alleged Of Midnight Property Demolition

Fresh tension has gripped parts of Ikeja after members of the Akinole-Oshiun family accused allies of House of Representatives member James Faleke and officials of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority of allegedly invading and demolishing structures on a disputed property in Agidingbi.
The family claimed the incident happened in the early hours of Monday when suspected thugs allegedly stormed the land located along Lateef Jakande Road opposite the Coca-Cola factory.
According to the family, the men arrived under heavy security presence and forcefully pulled down a newly constructed perimeter fence while also removing the gate protecting the property.
Residents in the area reportedly woke up to loud noises and confusion as the overnight demolition operation continued for hours.
The disputed land is said to form part of a larger property that has remained the subject of legal battles dating back several decades.
The Akinole-Oshiun family insisted that several court judgments, including decisions from the Supreme Court, had already affirmed its ownership rights over the land.
Family representatives claimed they lawfully recovered possession of the property through a court-backed execution process years ago before fresh disputes emerged over the site.
According to the family, development work had already commenced on the land after official allocation documents and survey approvals were allegedly issued in their favour.
However, the situation reportedly changed after claims surfaced that the property belongs to the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority based on a Certificate of Occupancy allegedly issued many years ago.
The family strongly rejected the claim, insisting that no government allocation or lease arrangement can override final court judgments already delivered on the matter.
The development has triggered fresh concerns over alleged land grabbing, political interference, and disregard for judicial decisions in Lagos State.
Legal observers say the dispute could result in another prolonged court battle if both sides fail to resolve ownership claims surrounding the property.
Community members around Agidingbi have also expressed concern over the rising tension, warning that such confrontations could threaten peace within the area.
As of the time this report was filed, neither James Faleke nor officials of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority had publicly reacted to the allegations.
