BREAKING: Kwankwaso Defects to ADC in Major Political Shift

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress.

The former Kano State governor completed his registration on Monday and received his membership card at Gidan Kwankwasiyya in Kano, confirming his move to the new political platform.

His defection comes just a day after he announced his resignation from the NNPP, describing the decision as necessary due to ongoing political developments in the country.

Kwankwaso explained that although leaving the party was difficult, the current political climate required a strategic shift to a platform he believes offers better prospects for national progress.

Several prominent political figures were present at the event, including David Mark, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi, alongside other party stakeholders.

Others in attendance included Dino Melaye and John Odigie-Oyegun, reflecting the high-profile nature of the gathering.

The former minister expressed appreciation to the NNPP leadership, particularly its National Chairman, for their support during his time in the party. He also acknowledged members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for their loyalty.

Kwankwaso assured his supporters that collaboration would continue as they work towards what he described as a better future for Nigeria under a new political alignment.
