Update: Voters decry missing names, polling chaos

Some voters at the Durumi II Polling Unit in the Abuja Municipal Area Council raised concerns over the omission of names from the voter register during Saturday’s FCT Area Council election.
A large number of voters were present at the polling unit, but several prospective voters said their names were missing from the register displayed for verification.
Our correspondent observed that names beginning with the letters C, E, H, and I were not visible on the displayed register.
A check confirmed that names under those alphabetical categories could not be found on the list.
One affected voter, Chidi Uchechi, said he did not see his name and noted that all names starting with C were missing.
Another voter expressed frustration, suggesting the omission could indicate foul play.
“These INEC officials know what they are doing. Why will some names be omitted? Maybe they want the election to be rigged,” the voter said.
In addition to missing names, some voters and party agents complained about poor coordination of the voting process.
The agents were seen engaging in heated exchanges over the management of the exercise at the polling unit.
Despite the concerns, voting continued, but the omissions and coordination issues raised questions about the conduct of the election at Durumi II.
