Tanker, Three Vehicles Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Not fewer than four vehicles, including a petrol tanker, were involved in a crash on Tuesday at Otedola Bridge, inward Berger, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing serious traffic disruption in the area.
The accident, which involved a PMS-loaded tanker, two Toyota Corolla cars and a commercial vehicle, was confirmed by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, in a statement shared on X.
According to the agency, emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene to prevent further danger and manage traffic. Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Lagos State Ambulance Service, LASAMBUS, and LASTMA were seen working together to control the situation.
LASTMA said rescue operations and traffic management were ongoing as efforts were being made to clear the affected vehicles and restore the free flow of traffic on the busy expressway.
“As of now, emergency responders such as Lagos Rescue, LASAMBUS and LASTMA personnel are firmly on ground to do the needful,” the statement read.
Details on the cause of the crash and possible casualties were yet to be confirmed as investigations continued.
