Supreme Court Confirms Conviction of Lamido’s Son Over $40,000 Offence

The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed the forfeiture of $40,000 belonging to Aminu Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, after dismissing his appeal against the decision.
A five-member panel of the apex court, headed by Justice Inyang Okoro, held that the appeal lacked merit and upheld the judgments of the lower courts. The unanimous decision was delivered by Justice Adamu Jauro and read by Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar.
The court ruled that the appeal was “doomed to fail” and confirmed that the undeclared foreign currency was properly forfeited to the Federal Government.
