Senate Calls on Tinubu to Replace CAC Registrar-General

The Senate has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The demand came after the Senate Committee on Finance passed a resolution in Abuja on Thursday.
The committee accused Magaji of repeatedly failing to appear before them to explain the finances of the CAC.
Senator Sani Musa, Chairman of the committee, said Magaji refused to honour multiple invitations.
He added that there were concerns about how CAC’s revenue was being reconciled.
“Every time we invite him, he gives excuses,” Musa said during the committee’s meeting.
The Senate resolution highlighted the committee’s frustration with the lack of accountability from the CAC leadership.
Lawmakers said Magaji’s repeated absence undermines oversight and proper management of public funds.
The committee urged President Tinubu to take action to ensure transparency at the commission.
The Senate also emphasized that accountability from government agencies is critical for public trust and financial integrity.
