No Amount of Money Will Push Me Into Politics — Oyedepo

By Akeem Oduyoye
The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said he has no interest in partisan politics, stressing that not even a $1 billion offer would change his mind.
The cleric made the statement while addressing worshippers during an impartation service at the church’s annual Shiloh 2025 programme.
Oyedepo told members to remain committed to their divine assignments, explaining that true impact and leadership come from staying within one’s calling. According to him, it is only by doing so that believers can influence their environment and make lasting change.
He recalled earlier warnings he gave to the church about difficult times ahead, noting that events have since confirmed those concerns. He insisted that politics does not align with his life’s purpose.
“If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course,” he said.
The bishop also spoke on the urgency of the moment, describing the world as being in deep need of spiritual solutions. He said the time has come for believers to rise and provide answers to national challenges, just as biblical figures such as Joseph and Daniel did.
Oyedepo urged members of the church to stay focused on their God-given roles, adding that by doing so, they can positively influence their communities and nations without being distracted by worldly ambitions.
