According to the Ministry of Defence, the pact covers joint military training, intelligence sharing, defence technology, security support, and coordinated operations that will help both nations respond better to modern security threats. The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Mohammed Bello Matawalle, signed on Nigeria’s behalf, while Dr. Khaleed H. Al-Biyari represented the Saudi government.
Authorities described the deal as a major step forward in Nigeria–Saudi relations, adding that it opens the door to stronger collaboration at a time Nigeria is working to address several security challenges.
