Legends Reborn Festival and Award set for Aug 2021

African music legends will be celebrated on a grand occasion that is bill to take place in Lagos this August

The event according to the organisers is basically to celebrate the contribution of these legends to the development of the African people, culture, and music and will feature the likes of Sir Victor Uwaifo, Onyeka Onwenu, Sir Shina Peters, the Duke of African Music, Bright Chimezie, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Yvonne Chakachaka from South Africa amongst others.

Speaking at a press conference to promote the upcoming event, the leader of the team putting the event together, Mr Lekan Olarinde, said the event is musical night/ dinner to celebrate Africa’s musical legends.

He said the event will be a night to remember because “it is a night of music and an award ceremony where these legends will be celebrated.

Elaborating on the award Mr. Olarinde, said there are different categories for these awards, we have the best artist of the era 60, 70, 80, Best album of the era, Best artist of the era Africa, and the best collaboration of the era, the best video. There will be a posthumous award for the like Sir Victor Olaiya and others

The event is slated for August 26, and will take place at the ball room of Oriental Hotel Victoria Island Lagos. The event is been put together by Cloud 9.

The press conference was attended by Sir Shina Peters, Waka Queen Salawa Abine, The duke of African music Bright Chimezie and Onyeka Onwenu as well as Yvonne Chakachaka and Sir Victor Uwaifo who join in via Zoom
