The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers as part of efforts to boost security and improve service delivery in the state.
The ceremony, held at the command headquarters, saw 30 Superintendents of Police promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, while five Deputy Superintendents of Police were elevated to Superintendent of Police.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the commissioner said the promotions reflected the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to rewarding hard work, discipline and professionalism within the Force.
“The exercise shows that dedication and excellence are recognised and rewarded. It should serve as motivation for better performance,” CP Jimoh said.
He thanked the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the confidence reposed in the newly promoted officers, describing the exercise as a morale booster that would strengthen operations across the command.
CP Jimoh reminded the officers that their new ranks came with higher responsibility and public expectations, urging them to uphold integrity at all times. “A higher rank demands greater diligence, discipline and accountability,” he added.
He congratulated the families of the officers and expressed confidence that the promotions would contribute to improved safety and protection of lives and property in Lagos State.
