BREAKING: INEC Endorses Wike-Backed PDP Leadership Shake-Up

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially acknowledged the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike.
The commission reflected the development on its website on Monday, listing the updated leadership of the opposition party. This move confirms the recognition of the faction that emerged from the party’s recent convention.
The new leadership was produced during the PDP convention held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, where members were selected through a consensus arrangement after dissolving the caretaker committee.
At the top of the list is Abdulrahman Mohammed, who will serve as National Chairman, alongside Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary. Other key positions were also filled to complete the party’s national structure.
The National Working Committee includes Aaron Chukwuemeka and Yusufu Akirikwen as Deputy National Chairmen for the South and North respectively, while Kolawale Olabisi was named Deputy National Secretary.
Odeyemi Oladiran emerged as National Treasurer, with Lado Marke as his deputy. Eyim Henry was appointed Financial Secretary, supported by Grema Kyari as Deputy Financial Secretary.
Umar Bature was confirmed as National Organising Secretary, with Efere Augustine as his deputy, while Jungudo Mohammed and Egwu Chidiebere were named Publicity Secretary and Deputy respectively.
The legal and audit units were also filled, with Kamaldeen Ajibade as Legal Adviser, Aloysius Uba as Deputy Legal Adviser, Osuoha Donatus as Auditor, and Adaba Yatu as Deputy Auditor.
In addition, Ogunshe Adedayo emerged as National Women Leader with Hauwa Shinge as deputy, while Ibrahim Aboki and Momoh Bashir were named Youth Leader and Deputy Youth Leader.
The recognition by the electoral body is expected to shape the party’s direction as it prepares for future political activities and internal reorganisation.
