The Chinese Consul General in Lagos, Yan Yuqing, has praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its effectiveness in investigation and enforcement, as well as its consistent partnership in tackling both local and cross-border financial crimes.
She made the remarks on January 28, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC in Ikoyi. Yan led a Chinese delegation to the office of the Acting Zonal Director, ACE1 Bawa Usman Kaltungo.
The Consul General highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and called for improved information sharing between China and Nigeria to strengthen efforts against corruption and financial crimes that cut across national borders.
In response, EFCC officials reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to international cooperation, noting that strong partnerships are key to successful anti-graft operations.
The visit underscored growing ties between both countries in the global fight against economic and financial crimes.
