Tinubu Heads To Paris As European Vacation Continues

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, as he begins the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe.

The President travelled to France after spending the first part of his vacation in London. He was received in Paris by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.

Tinubu began his annual leave after departing Abuja on August 30, 2026. The trip is taking place at a time when political activities are already building ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Presidency had earlier said the President would spend about three weeks on leave before returning to Nigeria to resume his official duties. His arrival in Paris marks the continuation of the private holiday after his time in the United Kingdom.

Tinubu’s latest trip has also renewed attention on his frequent visits to France since he became President in May 2023. Available records cited in the report indicate that he has visited Paris at least 13 times during his presidency.

His overseas movements have also covered several countries, with previous trips combining official engagements, diplomatic meetings, private visits and periods of rest.

The Paris leg of the current holiday comes shortly after the All Progressives Congress unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, with Tinubu named as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria after completing his European holiday and continue his administration’s activities as preparations for the 2027 election gather momentum.

For now, Tinubu’s arrival in Paris marks the latest stop in his European vacation before his expected return to Nigeria.
