Rev Bakare Is Our Secretary-General – Chief Sanni

Chief Suleiman Sanni, Secretary of the Sobowale family, a branch of late Efunroye Tinubu’s family that gave power of attorney to Adamakin and Works Limited over properties belonging to Efunroye, has kicked against anyone parading himself as Secretary-General of the late Efunroye’s Board of Trustees other than Rev. Adio Bakare.
Sanni, in an interview with the managing editor of Royal Times, Ranti Thomas, stated that the Sobowale family was given two positions in the BoT of Madam Efunroye Tinubu. The two positions, according to him, were Vice Chairman and General Secretary offices.
He said the office of Secretary-General was given to Rev. Bakare, but one Temilola Dauda Adesanya now parades himself with falsified documents to lay claim to the position on the BoT.
“The family did not appoint him. Rev. Bakare has been the Secretary-General but because of inactivity on his part, the family said Adesanya would represent him at the Board, but based on the original arrangement, Bakare returned to assume the role in active capacity,” he said.
Sanni asked that no member of the public should deal with Adesanya on matters relating to the estate of late Efunroye Tinubu as he is not the legally selected Secretary-General.
He also stated that Adesanya had taken the matter to court to defend his role on the BoT.
Meanwhile, Chief Sanni, claims that there will be an emergency meeting of the Sobowale family to confirm the allegation that Adesanya is fraudulently parading himself as General Secretary.
He reaffirmed that regardless, he is not in agreement with the decision to appoint Adesanya as SG of the BoT Efunroye Tinubu.
The Efunroye Tinubu Estate has had its fair share of legal battles and propriety claims. Recently, both branches of the family, Lumosa and Sobowale families, met at Lumosa’s Compound, Oke-Ido Gbagura Abeokuta to reaffirm the Power of Attorney given to Adamakin and Works Limited.
At the meeting, Rev. Bakare said the family had unanimously denied the Power of Attorney allegedly given to some other people like Lagoon Park Global Resources, Mansfield Real Estate Company, Integrated Service Limited, Mr Onyebuchi Opara Ugo, Mr Timothy Ogbonna, Mr Taiwo Oyewunmi, Mr Akeem Osuolade (a.k.a) Olowobusobuso, Mr Temilola Dawud Adesanya and Mr Ibrahim Mojeed.
The Sobowale family condemned the signing by the trustee for Oloto Family that Alaka land does not belong to Madam Efunroye Tinubu family.
Their statement read, “it has come to our notice that some unscrupulous people have been circulating rumour around Lagos State and its environs that the Power of Attorney given to Adamakin and Works Limited has been revoked by the family. Those doing this are doing so in order to successfully carry out their dubious act.
“We are also stating categorically that the family does not and will never give Power of Attorney to any other person. Therefore, the Power of Attorney given to Adamakin and Works Limited by the Legal/Administrator of the Family Estate and Properties is still intact and unrevokable. We are appealing to the general public to please stay away from these people because they have no legal right to represent or operate in any capacity on behalf of Madam Efunroye Tinubu family.
“The family, then, jointly agreed that it is only Afolabi Adamakin of Adamakin and Works Limited’ that is the bonafide Attorney of the Family and the family has agreed on the inclusion of more people to be members of Trustees to make their work transparent.
“This is to also let the public know that those trying to sell or develop parts of the land behind the National Stadium/Alaka/Iponri are doing so at their own risk; whoever trying to engage in any transaction with any person(s), or group, or company mentioned are doing such at utmost risk.”
In an earlier report by TheRoyalTimes.com, Chairman of Adamakin Investment & Works Ltd., Akin Afolabi, said the disputes arose as a result of Efunroye’s lack of offsprings which meant her slaves illegally claimed the lands they had been given to farm on while she was alive.
