At least four persons were confirmed dead while 10 others injured after thunder strikes in Nasarawa garage in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nazarawa State.
Those injured are said to be in critical condition in an undisclosed hospital in the state.
An eyewitness, named Mabudi, recounted how the sad incident occurred on Saturday.
“I witnessed the most intense and scary thunder strike a few minutes ago here in Nasarawa.
“I was at the Nasarawa Garage getting a car fixed when I suddenly heard a loud rumble and bright light. A lot of people actually ran not knowing what it was.
“Shortly after the thunderous event, a gathering formed under a tree where it was discovered that three individuals had tragically lost their lives due to the lightning strike.
“This is the first time I’m seeing something this terrifying in my whole life.” Mabudi recounted.
The Honorable member representing Nasarawa Central constituency and Chairperson of the Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, extended her heartfelt condolences to the affected families.
