A man suspected to be a manhood thief was on Tuesday beaten to a state of coma in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
It was gathered that incident happened when the suspect visited a shop along Dunamis Church Road in Lokoja to buy bread.
Confusion started when the shop owner felt a shock in his body and thereafter touched his manhood, only to discover that his manhood had disappeared.
Upon hearing him screams and cry for help, neighbours and passersby attacked the suspect and gave him a thorough beating.
An eyewitness, Michael Nwankwo, said the suspect confessed to the crime after the thorough beating and expressed joy that the manhood of the shop owner had been restored.
Similar incidents have occurred in Ganaja and Karaworo in the state capital, with each suspect receiving mob action.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya, confirmed the incident, just as he cautioned the public not to take the law into their own hands,
Aya warned that once there is such allegation, the people should report to the police to enable them to conduct a proper investigation.
The police image maker also warned that anybody who takes the law into his/her own hands, if arrested, will be prosecuted according to the law.
