Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has revealed that the All Progressives Congress,(APC), won in his state and Kogi during the off-cycle election due to the party’s growing popularity.
Uzodinma added that Nigerians are happy with the ruling part following the impact of President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that in Imo, Uzodinma won his reelection bid after defeating rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Labour Party.
APC’s candidate, Usman Ododo also emerged victorious in Kogi State, but PDP won in Bayelsa State with Governor Douye Diri re-elected.
Uzodinma and Ododo visited Tinubu at the presidential Villa to present him with their certificates of return.
Speaking during the visit, Uzodinma said APC’s victory in Kogi and Imo states showed the “growing popularity” of the party.
“You recall that the election of November 11, our great party, APC, is growing in popularity and came out successfully in Kogi and Imo states.
“Our victory at the polls shows that Nigerians are still very happy with the APC. Nigerians voted en-mass for the President and this victory validates this claim through the voters in Kogi state and Imo state.
“So we have come to honour the president and also use the opportunity to thank him for his support, advice, and wisdom.
“He imparted on us and achievements he has recorded since he became the president which most of us leverage on to be able to convince the voters to vote for us,” Uzodinma said.
