Poultry farmers have disclosed that decried the price of maize, a significant feed for birds may force them to leave the business.
The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), disclosed made this disclosure on Monday in a statement jointly signed by the National President, Sunday Ezeobiora, and the Director-General, Onallo Akpa.
Consequently, Poultry Farmers said the government’s failure to intervene would collapse the industry.
“The high surge in the price of maize and the near absence or scarcity of the product is causing farmers to close down their poultry farms because it is no longer sustainable to feed the birds and be in business.
“This is threatening the Nigerian poultry industry’s further development,” PAN stated.
