It covers all aspects of the industry from technological advances in upstream and downstream operations to the role of natural gas and renewables, management of the industry, and its social, economic, and environmental impact.
OCAN stated that the 24th edition of the congress will prove to be an important bridge between the traditional energy sector and a more carbon-neutral industry; adding that many important conversations will happen in Calgary to help define realistic, workable paths to a net-zero future.
The committee advised authors to submit abstracts for paper and poster presentations online at the event website to share their innovative solutions based on the theme: Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero.
It listed to the 17 technical topics to include innovations in upstream, downstream, petrochemicals, natural gas, and the future of the energy landscape.
President and CEO of OCAN, Denis Painchaud, stated: “The 24th Congress will be one of the year’s premier global energy conferences. Due to a strong response from authors worldwide, we are extending the deadline for those still working on submissions. This will ensure authors have adequate time to develop and share the highest quality abstracts for the Congress.”
According to the COO of OCAN, “the Congress is meant to share diverse perspectives, allowing for a global dialogue on energy transition solutions. Through our technical forums, we look forward to hosting thought leaders across the industry to contribute to the energy transition.”
The WPC is the world’s premier oil, gas and energy forum that attracts the attendance of heads of state, energy leaders and technical experts who discuss the challenges and opportunities of managing the world’s petroleum and energy resources for the benefit of all.
Under the theme of “Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero,” the 24th WPC in Calgary will feature a multistream conference, including strategic and technical sessions, programming for young professionals, and special entertainment events such as Canada Night, Women’s Networking Breakfast, Ministerial Reception, Excellence Awards and much more.
