A truck conveying humans and animals, on Wednesday morning, crashed along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, killing one person while seven persons were injured
The truck crashed around Sandcrate to Fidiwo at about 6am.
The Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State command Florence Okpe, confirmed accident, saying that 15 male adults were involved in the crash.
“Seven persons were injured and one person was recorded dead from the lone crash. “One vehicle was involved with no registration number on it, a Daf truck conveying both passengers and animals,” Okpe said.
Okpe, who blamed the lone crash on a tyre burst while speeding, which she said led to loss of control, added the injured victims had been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention.
“FRSC operatives are still managing the situation and traffic has been diverted to the other lane to remove the obstruction off the road,” The state FRSC image-maker said.
