Man, 25, To Spend Rest Of His life In Jail For For Raping Two Boys

 A 25-year-old man, Israfilu Sagiru of Zarena Village, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area in Jigawa State on Thursday  sentenced to life imprisonment for raping two pupils by State High Court sitting in Birnin Kudu on Thursday.

Sagiru was first arraigned on 5th September 2021, before the High Court on a two-count rape charges for luring and sodomizing two ‘almajiri’ pupils aged 11 and 12, on the pretext of giving them new clothes.

In order to prove the case, the prosecution called three witnesses, tendered a confessional statement of the defendant and evidence of a forensic examination.

Delivering judgment, Justice Musa Ubale said the prosecution from the State Ministry of Justice, had proved all the ingredients of rape.

Ubale, who said the offense was contrary to Section 3 (1) (e) of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law (VAPP) No. 02, 2021, therefore sentenced the accused person to life imprisonment.
