Heartland FC of Owerri, campaigning in the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) ,have confirmed the appointment of former Nigerian international, Kennedy Boboye as their new head coach.
Boboye takes charge from Christian Obi, who was sacked following the Naze Millionaire’s poor start to the season.
The Owerri club, which is yet to record a win in the NPFL this season after nine outings,occupies the 20th position on the table with six points.
“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with two-time NPFL winning coach Kennedy Boboye,” reads a statement on the club’s X handle.
“He takes charge of the club’s technical team with immediate effect on a 1-year deal with an option of a renewal.”
Boboye, who is highly respected as a coach in the Nigerian topflight league was a former international, won the NPFL title with Plateau United and Akwa United in the past.
