Galatasaray have announced the signing of Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer after striking a bargain deal,Talk Sports reports.
The Crystal Palace star had come to the end of his contract at Selhurst Park with speculation over his next destination.
Arsenal and Everton have previously been linked with a move for the 30-year-old, while the Eagles also tabled a huge contract offer in an attempt to keep their talisman at the club.
However Zaha has now committed his future to the Turkish giants, signing a three-year contract with a side set to play in the Champions League next term.
While the Ivory Coast star will have the opportunity to win major silverware with Galatasaray, Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony believes that the move is somewhat bizarre.
Speaking on White And Jordan, MacAnthony said: “Times have changed, His age, his injury record in the last few seasons means he hasn’t been as ever-present as he has been historically.
“He wants a payday, I understand that too because he’s coming to the wrong side of 30 shortly and he’ll want to get paid.
“I always defend footballers and say it’s a short career – they should cash in as much as they can, particularly as they get older.
“I don’t get the Turkey move. I’m not disrespecting Galatasaray, but with all due respect this is the Premier League. If you’re trying to compare the Turkish league to the Premier League, do me a favour.
“I don’t know the tax situation in Turkey but maybe it is time for Wilf to move on.
